Why use WordPress?

WordPress started in 2003 as a blogging tool and has evolved throughout the years into a very powerful website builder and a robust, secure content management system (CMS). CMS means you can manage it yourself.

WordPress is  easy to use and flexible enough to make just about any kind of website you can think of. That’s the main reason why WordPress has grown so much in popularity.

According to a recent survey, WordPress is used by over 40% of all websites on the Internet and so has a huge following of supporters, contributors and experts.

Another reputable source says:

“WordPress is used by 65.1% of all the websites whose content management system we know. This is 42.1% of all websites.” (W3Techs)

Because of WordPress’s wide range of advantages many of the top brands use it to power their websites. Brands including Time Magazine, Facebook, The New Yorker, Sony, Disney, Target, The New York Times, and many, many more.

Webdesign Matters started using WordPress about seven years ago, tentatively at first and just on our own in-house websites. We were soon convinced that WordPress was now so far ahead of any other CMS software that, for the ultimate benefit to clients, it was the obvious choice for us to use into the future.

There are just so many benefits! WordPress itself is free software, it’s hugely popular and has an incredible amount of support with thousands of plugin apps available. This enables us to quickly build high quality websites for  our clients at very reasonable prices.

Since 2016 we have built dozens of WordPress websites and use the Elementor Pro page builder. We include this rather expensive but well-worth-the-money app for all clients to use along with the other add-on apps/plugins we always use.
